JFNW 2013 - Apply by January 31

Can Europe’s forests meet the increased demands for forest biomass? The JFNW 2013 looks into how we can improve our current forest management systems and what are the opportunities and challenges of intensive forest management. Participants will be engaged in discussions, lectures, group work and excursions in order to broaden their own expertise and contacts through active participation and networking.

The interested applicants should submit short description (max 200-400 words) on the applicant’s background and interest in the field and CV with contact details. The requested documents should be submitted by 31 January 2013 to Mr. Markus Lier (markus.lier(at)metla.fi). The Joensuu Forestry Networking Week Scientific Committee will examine all applications sent within the deadline. The 25–30 selected candidates will be informed by 15 March 2013 at the latest.

The networking week is organised in co-operation with the Finnish Forest Research Institute, European Forest Institute, the University of Eastern Finland and the Karelia University of Applied Sciences.
