Secure your place now at the EFI 20 Years Science and Policy Forum, which will be held in Nancy, France from 23-27 September 2013! The Forum stretches for a whole week including a variety of side-events.

On 25 September, a high-level conference: “Our forests in the 21st century – ready for risks and opportunities?” gathers both scientists and decision-makers. The doors open at the venue, Palais des Congrès of Nancy, on 25 September at 8 am.

New book launches at Annual Conference!

As part of the celebrations for EFI’s 20th year in 2013, we have produced a special anniversary book. “Celebrating 20 years of forest networking in Europe” gives a voice to EFI’s network – their memories of EFI and their vision for the future. The 160-page book will be launched at the EFI 20 Years Science and Policy Forum in Nancy, France on Wednesday 25 September.

Risks to European Forests - towards a European Forest Risk Facility

This session on Thursday 26 September will look at the initiatives towards a European Forest Risk Facilility, linked challenges and opportunities and its context within other ongoing initiatives. Member organisations gather for decision making

On 24 September, the decision-making session of the Annual Conference will discuss and decide on issues such as EFI’s future plans and hear reports from the past year. This session lies at the heart of EFI decision-making, making the voice of EFI's network heard at the highest level.

Member organisations will also celebrate 20 years of EFI at a special Anniversary Lunch! Registration for this session opens on Tuesday 24 September at 10 am. The venue of the event is Aquarium Museum, 34 rue Sainte-Catherine.


‘Shaping forest policy: Global initiatives and the European arena’

This side event features a forest governance research agenda that includes: science contribution towards achieving the EU FLEGT Action Plan, FLEGT’s influence on markets, trade and economic development, Voluntary Partnership Agreements and forest governance.
