First Annual Meeting of Trees4Future

Trees4Future is an Integrative European Research Infrastructure project that aims to integrate, develop and improve major forest genetics and forestry research infrastructures. EFI is vice-coordinator of the project, and is involved in several work packages to do with modelling, research data and dissemination. It is also making EFISCEN and TOSIA available via Trees4Future’s Transnational Access programme (see www.trees4future.eu/transnational-accesses.html).

The Annual Meeting involved dedicated working sessions for each work package and intensive plenary sessions to fine-tune the many networking and research activities planned for 2013. Partners also took part in a field trip to the Thünen-Institute of Forest Genetics at Waldsieversdorf, where they saw the ongoing IUFRO Scots pine provenance trial, and visited the genetics labs and forest seed testing station.
