SIMWOOD project launches new website
SIMWOOD is a four-year EU Seventh Framework Programme project, which aims to increase the mobilisation of wood from forests and woodlands in Europe. The project reaches out to stakeholders and regional initiatives with the aim of ‘waking up’ and mobilising forest owners, promoting collaborative forest management and ensuring sustainable forest functions. The project consortium includes 28 partners from 11 European countries. EFI leads the Knowledge transfer and dissemination work package, and is involved in three other areas: Regional profiles of wood mobilisation challenges; Regional mobilisation strategies and integrated evaluation; and European monitoring and policy support.
