Free registration for EFI 2012 Annual Conference open until 1 June

European Forest Institute will hold its Annual Conference this year in Istanbul, Turkey on 3–5 October 2012. The Annual Conference starts with a morning seminar Following RIO +20: European Forests and Green Economy followed by an EFI Bazaar where the member organisations have a possibility for displaying their activities. The day is closed by the official decision-making session on EFI affairs. It is followed by the Scientific Seminar Social dimensions of forests on 4 October and the Conference will end to a field trip in the North of Istanbul on 5 October.

Before 1 June there is no registration fee for 2 representatives from each EFI member organisation (Associate & Affiliate) and for invited observers to participate in the EFI 2012 Annual Conference, Conference dinner and the Scientific Seminar. This applies only for the first 100 registrations and until 1 June 2012.

Call for new EFI Board Member proposals

The Board of EFI consists of eight members and they are appointed for a period of three years. One of the members is due to step down in October 2012 and proposals from EFI Associate Members for a new EFI Board member are requested to be sent by 30 June 2012.

Call for new EFI SAB Member nominations

The Scientific Advisory Board of EFI comprises of ten members nominated for a five-year period. Every year two (2) new members are elected according to a rota system. Call for nominations of candidates to fullfil SAB memberships is now open. The deadline for submitting the nominations is 30 June 2012.

Call for bids for the EFI 2014 Annual Conference Week

The Annual Conference is the central decision-making body in the EFI organisation. It takes place during the EFI Annual Conference week. The week is organised in co-operation with EFI member organisations. The Call for bids for the next EFI Annual Conference Week taking place in 2014 is now open! The week gathers approximately 150 participants. If your organisation is interested in hosting the Conference, please find the application form and contact information on the EFI website under Members section.

Deadline for proposals is 15 June 2012.
