Central European Regional Office and the Observatory for European Forests (EFICENT-OEF) is seeking a Forest Economist based at the Observatory for European Forests, Nancy, France.
The post will involve in particular conducting EFI research activities in European forest economics and
initiating new projects and assisting in fundraising. Also networking in the sector of forest economics and strengthening EFI collaboration in this field with compiling and analysing European data on e.g. forest land prices, wood consumption and trade are relevant duties in the position. EFI's EU FLEGT Facility is now seeking a Legality Assurance System (LAS) Expert. The expert will provide guidance to the VPA processes on the LAS design and implementation in the FLEGT Partner Countries, including legality verification, control of the wood supply chain, FLEGT licensing and independent audit of the system implementation, as well as governance related and institutional issues, and participatory planning processes. The incumbent will work closely with FLEGT stakeholders in Europe and in partner countries including government, industry and NGOs. Deadline for applications is 30 November.
