FORESTERRA: Call for ideas
During the next EFIMED annual meeting on 13 June 2012 in Tunis, FORESTERRA activities will be presented to the EFIMED Network. Most of the EFIMED annual meeting will be dedicated to a “brainstorming session” to discuss potential research ideas relevant at Mediterranean level. The results of this discussion session will serve as a basis for preparing further the FORESTERRA scientific plan (also built around the MFRA), which should result in an international call for Mediterranean forest research projects.
In order to structure the session and efficiently use the time available for discussions, EFIMED would like to receive ideas in advance for potential research projects within the framework of the Mediterranean Forest Research Agenda. In order to send your ideas, please use the following format. The project ideas should be supported by at least three different organizations from three different Mediterranean countries participating in FORESTERRA (see the list of countries participating). The proposals should follow this template and fit in one page. The deadline for receiving proposals is 1st of May. An example is also enclosed for improving clarity.
After receiving the proposals EFIMED will structure the discussion session, and will, if needed, select proposals to be presented that better address the MFRA priorities and have a better international coverage. The idea is to allow for the presentation of research ideas in a plenary session followed by discussions. The proposals will be grouped according to the MFRA four scientific priorities, and parallel sessions will be organized to go into details.
We encourage all of you to take part in this important exercise.
