EFIMED present at the Wildland fire Conference

At the conference more than 700 delegates from 73 countries were discussing critical fire issues affecting communities, resources and ecosystems and working co-operatively on the consolidation of a global wild land fire management strategy. Furthermore, the conference was aiming at further developing and strengthening international cooperation and coordination of fire management efforts.

Robert Mavsar presented the recently developed models for estimation of economic impacts of forest fires that will be implemented in the frame of the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS). These models are the result of the MASIFF project, which was coordinated by EFIMED.
