Forest Groups Meeting in Turkey
192 research projects from 12 Forest Research Institutes working for the General Directorate of Forestry at national and regional level in Turkey, were evaluated. Six working groups based on different disciplines evaluated projects over 4 days between 28 January - 1 February 2013 in the Antalya - Kemer Mirada del Mar Hotel. More than 250 participants from research organizations, universities, application units and NGO’s participated in the meetings. The projects discussed mainly concerned forestry problems faced at regional and national level in Turkey.
Dr. Mahir KÜÇÜK, Vice Undersecretary of the Ministry of Forest and Water Affairs, gave the opening address, underlining the importance of research for forestry, not only at national but also regional and global level.
