Businesses from around Catalonia visited EFI Barcelona offices to
discuss the Barcelona BioEconomy Forum which will take place at Sant Pau
The meeting, on 19 February, provided an opportunity for companies from around Catalonia to learn about the Barcelona BioEconomy Forum, the potential for involvement and sponsorship, as well as participating in a tour of the Sant Pau Art Nouveau site.
The event was hosted by Dr Liisa Tahvanainen, Secretary General of the Forum, with Marc Guerrero, Director of Sant Pau Art Noveau Site, and Martí Boada, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Forum. Guests included representatives from Dalkia Catalonia, Triodos Bank Spain, COMSA EMTE, and Gabarró.
The meeting provided an introduction to the Forum for these business leaders, presenting the opportunities and benefits it might offer for their business strategies and highlighting the importance of the engagement of the industrial sector in the development of a bioeconomy.
Barcelona BioEconomy Forum is a global platform for decision-makers and leaders in bioeconomy development. Barcelona BioEco 2014 will take place at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, Barcelona, Spain on the 27-28 November, 2014.
This Forum will generate practical new ideas on how to optimally and sustainably utilise natural resources, promoting wellbeing and resource wisdom for multiple benefits, and solutions adapting to a changing climate and the diminishing availability of natural resources.
In other news, members of the Barcelona BioEconomy Forum Steering Committee, Antonio Trasobares, Denis Boglio and Marti Boada, also promoted the Forum at the Catalan Biomass Fair with presentations on Catalan forests and the concepts behind the bioeconomy, Mediterranean forests as energy producers in the framework of the Barcelona BioEconomy Forum and the scientific perspective of the Forum.
