Forest Research Meeting in Turkey

Forest Research Institutes met in Antalya, Turkey from 3-7 February to evaluate research projects.
Regional Forest Institutes in Turkey are responsible for solving the problems faced by the Forest Service by conducting applied and fundamental forestry research.

Expert groups in forestry related sectors including silviculture, forest ecology, management, economy and policy and non-wood forest products gathered in Antalya to discuss new projects. The Turkish General Directorate of Forestry (GDF) stipulates that research projects need to complete an evaluation process before starting. Most of the proposed projects were accepted and will commence once approved by the GDF.
