This book is in French as the target audience is mainly forest managers and forest owners and it provides practical tools for management. The book is composed of 17 sections distributed into 4 main topics: ecology (historical use, botany, distribution in the Mediterranean basin and in France, main phytosanitary troubles, impact of climate change), stand management (site factors and productivity, management of genetic resources, regeneration in fire free conditions, silviculture), fire ecology and management (flammability and fire behaviour, post-fire regeneration, operations after fire and restoration, preventive silviculture), wood harvesting and use (wood resource in France, actions to engage forest owners in management, mechanisation of forest harvesting, wood processing).
