In the framework of the regional project "Optimising the production of goods and services by Mediterranean forests in a context of global changes", funded by the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM), a workshop was held in Tunisia from 2-5 June, 2014.

The workshop, organized by Plan Bleu and FAO/Silva Mediterranea, gathered national experts, thematic experts, focal points from each country (Algeria, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey) and regional experts (EFIMED and the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia, CTFC) in order to:

- Present and discuss the methods selected for the socio-economic assessment of forest goods and services in the pilot sites (project component 2) with all participants of this component;

- Illustrate the first results produced by the partner countries on forest ecosystems vulnerability and adaptation to climate changes (project component 1) in the pilot sites;

- Stimulate exchanges between experts from the participating countries involved in the two components.
