Native Trees of Lebanon
A comprehensive study of the 68 tree species found in Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean region has been published in a new book by Elsa Sattout and Hala Zahreddine.
Along with rich colour photographs, the book compiles detailed information for each species, including botanical description and distribution, information on ecology and conservation status, and propagation methods along with the flowering and fruiting season for each tree. It also features a foreword from Vernon H. Heywood, Professor Emeritus, University of Reading and President of the International Association of Botanic Gardens.
The book encourages the protection and growth of native tree species, promoting their use in home gardens, parks, public gardens, streets capes along with reforestation projects.
