Municipal Forest Management

The first Municipal Forest Management Plan has been developed by the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) for the municipality of Argençola, Catalonia (Spain). Argençola is a municipality of more than 47 km2, most of which is forest.

Funded by the Catalan Generalitat, with the support of the Town Council and the Argençola Association of Forest Owners, this pilot plan aims to provide land owners in the area with technical guidance for forest management. The plan outlines three main areas, including actions aimed at forest fire prevention, the use of biomass and logging, and the use of non-timber forest spaces.
