FORESTERRA Call Open!
Mediterranean-scale approach to study global change drivers, impacts & indicators on forest ecosystems and to foster forest system resilience through managing biodiversity.The ERA-NET FORESTERRA has opened an international call for projects on the topic "Mediterranean-scale approach to study global change drivers, impacts & indicators on forest ecosystems and to foster forest system resilience through managing biodiversity".
This call has been launched on 4 November, and 12 institutions from 10 countries of the Mediterranean basin are taking part in it as funding institutions: Institut National de Recherche Forestière (INRF, Algeria), Executive Forest Agency (EFA, Bulgaria), Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation (IAC, Croatia), Croatian Forest Research Institute (CFRI, Croatia), Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA, France), Ministère de l’Agriculture, de l’Agroalimentaire et de la Forêt (MAAF), France, Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (MEECC, Greece), Department of Biology, Agriculture and Food Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR-DiSBA, Italy), Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT, Portugal), Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment (MAE, Slovenia), Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO, Spain), Institution de la Recherche et de l'Enseignement Supérieur Agricoles (IRESA, Tunisia).
This call foresees the financing of a Collaborative project on the topic "Fostering forest system resilience through managing biodiversity, from genes to communities (Biodiversity)" with a maximum financing of 1,500,000 Euro, and a Networking action on the topic "Understanding global change drivers, impacts & indicators on forest ecosystems: a Mediterranean‐scale approach (Global Change)" with a maximum financing of 250,000 Euro.
Each Consortium must be constituted by legal entities from at least three different countries involved in the Call by means of a Partner funding, including at least one partner from African Partner countries participating in the call. Research teams from other countries providing their own funding may also participate. The proposals must have a good balance between North-South and East-West Mediterranean countries.
Proposals must be electronically submitted by the Project Coordinator using the appropriate Application Form. The instructions to submit online proposals and the Application Forms, together with all the information related to the Call, are available at the FORESTERRA webpage
The closing date for proposals submissionis 15 January 2014 for both Networking actions (Full proposal) and Collaborative projects (Pre-proposal). For the pre-selected Collaborative projects at the Pre-proposal stage, there will be a second stage, with deadline on 7 July 2014.
