PhD Prize for EFIMED Researcher

AERNA is the Spanish-Portuguese Association of Resource and Environmental Economics which held their biennial conference in Girona, Spain, from 4 – 6 September, 2014.

Elsa’s presentation, entitled “Beyond the burnt area: insights on the social preferences for fire prevention management”, earned her a well-deserved prize of 1,000 Euros.

Elena Gorriz (CTFC-EFIMED) also made two presentations at the conference which were well received. The Barcelona-based collaboration between EFIMED and the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) is recognised as an important actor in the field of forest economics and attention is focussed on developments from this office in the future.

AERNA promotes the exchange and improvement of knowledge and the links between the environment and the economy. It aims to facilitate the scientific work of its members and decision making by interested social groups and public administrations in these fields.
