New Advisory Group members

The Advisory Group (AG) was born as a group of experts who voluntarily support to EFIMED Secretariat by advising and collaborating in its activities. In a first stage, they were considered not only by their field of expertise but also as representatives of their regions. Nowadays, and thanks to the process of the Mediterranean Forest Research Agenda, it has been consolidated a network of Focal Points in every Mediterranean country, so that we have a clear and strict geographical representation. Therefore the role of the AG has been revised taking into account this new situation and the task of the AG has changed into a think tank dealing with strategic issues.

We are pleased to introduce you the new EFIMED AG members:

Dr Jerry Vanclay is Professor of Sustainable Forestry and Head of the School of Environmental Science and Management, at the Southern Cross University (Australia). Before he was Principal Scientist with the Center for International Forestry Research, and Professor of Tropical Forestry at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Denmark. His field of research is decision support systems for forest management, including growth modelling and yield prediction. Website

Dr. Margaret Shannon, is Professor at University of Vermont (USA) and nowadays works as the project coordinator of EFI-FOPER II, based in Croatia, but working with colleagues from different Balkan countries.
