Marc Palahí has been invited to join the Sustainable Markets Expert Network, established by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales with the support of the World Economic Forum.

The Sustainable Markets Initiative was officially launched by His Royal Highness on 22 January at the World Economic Forum in Davos. It consists of key high-level corporate, national and international leaders and explores creative solutions, models sustainable leadership and champions sustainable markets at a global scale.

Marc will provide advice in forest-related markets and new bioeconomy innovations that contribute to the decarbonization of key industrial sectors. Marc Palahí said: “I am delighted to engage in such a visionary initiative which is in line with EFI Strategy and which will be instrumental to fulfill our mission: connecting knowledge to action.”

A key initiative emerging from his new expert role is a Circular Bioeconomy Investment Forum, to be held later in 2020. The Forum will focus on catalysing awareness, investment and action into sustainable forestry and the bioeconomy, and to demonstrate what is possible and scalable. It will be co-organised by EFI in partnership with the SMC, Sitra and CIFOR, and in collaboration with the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI).
