Personal Background:

Dr. Ralph M. Ridder joined EFI in 2007 as Manager of the EU FLEGT Facility. He started EFI’s FLEGT engagement, working closely with the European Commission and EU Member States in preparing and implementing Voluntary Partnership Agreements with timber export countries. Ralph holds a PhD in tropical forest monitoring and MSc in forestry, both from Munich University. He has more than 18 years of international work experience in multi-disciplinary teams focusing on policy analysis and governance reform processes. He worked in many countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe. Before joining EFI he worked for FAO, World Bank, World Resources Institute and other institutions.
