REQUIREMENTS

Dates of PhD finalization |
The candidate should have successfully defended his/her thesis during the academic year 2008/2009, that is, defended from 1st September 2008 until 31st August 2009. |

Type of thesis |
The PhD should be structured by articles. Monograph-type thesis will not be eligible. |
|
Language |
English. Main articles of the thesis (at least half) should be in English. |

Peer-reviewed articles |
At least one article should have been already accepted in an international scientific journal. More articles accepted and published would be an asset. |

Topic of the thesis |
The topic of the doctoral thesis should fit within the priorities of the
Mediterranean Forest Research Agenda (MFRA):
1. Impact of climate and land-use change on Mediterranean forest ecosystems functioning: assessing and monitoring main physical and biological processes including biodiversity

Candidate’s origin |
There is no origin restrictions for applicants; applicant can be located everywhere, but working on the Mediterranean region. |
|
Age |
Young scientists. The definition of 'young' can be reasonably flexible, but the nominee should be climbing the research ladder and not yet near the top. |
