New generation of forest scientists

Young researcher

EFI supports the building of a new generation of forest scientists in Europe, who are aware of the cross-sectoral nature of the forest-based sector, the important regional differences in forest issues, and of the need for interdisciplinary research to address policy-relevant questions.

EFI's initiatives include:

Short scientific visits and grants

Each year, EFI offers grants for scientific visits for young researchers from forest research and education organisations to visit another institution.

In 2017 EFI offers 10 grants for Short Scientific Visits (SSV) for Early Stage Researchers from EFI Associate Member organisation. These Visits provide a unique opportunity for interested candidates to get involved in international level forest research and research co-operation.
