Tuğba Deniz (2016)

/files/images/membership_organisations/tugbadeniz2_cropped.jpg : 34Kb Tuğba Deniz, from the Faculty of Forestry (Department of Forestry Economics) of Istanbul University, analysed the trade-offs and synergies between bioenergy production and ecosystem services in Italy and Turkey. She visited the Forest Monitoring and Planning Research Unit of the Council of Agricultural Research and Economics (CRA-MPF) in Trento, Italy, where she was hosted by Dr. Alessandro Paletto. The study took place from 11–22 July, 2016.

During the SSV, Deniz and Paletto jointly conducted a literature review, worked on definitions of ecosystem services, designed a questionnaire, and carried out pre-tests with experts in Italy and Turkey. After the SSV, the researchers will prepare an article on comparative analysis about the trade-offs and synergies between bioenergy and other ecosystem services in Italy and Turkey.
