Personal background:

Mr. Valentino Marini Govigli is currently junior researcher at the Mediterranean regional office EFIMED in Barcelona, Spain. He holds a MRes in Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of York (UK) and BAE in Economics from the University of Genova (Italy). He is currently PhD Student at the University of Ioannina (Greece), with the research title: “Modelling socio-ecological interactions of sacred forests in Northern Greece”.

Scientific interests:

  • Socio-economics of forest good and services
  • Green business models applied to SMEs in the forest sector
  • Statistical analyses and modelling of quantitative and qualitative data (surveys, focus groups, interviews)
  • Modelling of socio-ecological systems
  • Cultural ecology and forest history of Mediterranean forests
