EVOLTREE

EFIATLANTIC and EFIPLANT hosted the EVOLTREE network, a European research group linking genomics, genetics, ecology and evolution, from 2010 to 2020*.

This research group of 28 partners was initially a European Network of Excellence (REX) from 2006 to 2010 under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).

In the founding text related to the creation of REX, the European Union expressed its wish for the REX to continue in the long-term beyond the period of its financial support. EVOLTREE is one of the only REX that has succeeded in doing this thanks to support from EFI, and especially EFIATLANTIC/EFIPLANT.

The unit took charge of the administrative and financial management of the network; a role that no other partner has been willing to undertake. What’s more, EVOLTREE has benefited from its expertise in dissemination and communication.

Many thanks to Stephanie Hayes, Claudia Antoniotti and Christophe Orazio for having been the linchpin of the EVOLTREE network all these years.
