The purpose of the project was to produce a review, "World Forests, Society and Environment" (WFSE). The purpose of the review was to produce research-based reviews of important global topics and issues of current concern within world forests, society and environment from an independent and non-governmental point of view. The project was implemented jointly by Finnish Forest Research Institute, United Nations University and EFI. The tasks of EFI involved analysis of forest trade flows and maintenance of the project web pages.
