Transnational projects such as PLURIFOR or COOPEREM join efforts to exchange solutions and coordinate the management of risks and threats to forests, whilst at the same time preparing the leaders for a better job in an international team.

Green jobs

A global study on employment in the forest sector and relating to forestry will provide insight to the future labour market for forestry students. It will utilize the strong networks of all three partners to gather and systematize global knowledge from complementary perspectives. The study will begin with a systematic review of recent changes in employment and education complemented by explorative interviews with experts from science, education and business, a global survey among students and recent graduates, and interviews with employers.

The general objectives of the project were to create the Centre of excellence (LignoSilva) in the field of a forestry, woodprocessing and a pulp-paper complex. LignoSilva will help to strategically transform Forest-based sector of the region towards the innovation growth based on the knowledge economy (in terms of RIS 3 SK vision) and the implementation of the principles of Green Economy.
