Young Leadership Programme
EFI's Young Leadership Programme is aimed at young professionals working in the research and development, governance, administration or business side of the forest sector, or a related area. The 5-day programme offers a unique opportunity for young professionals with leadership potential to interact with a network of global peers and experts, and share practical experience through group exercises.

The economic, social and environmental challenges of today need bright new thinking that will shape tomorrow. EFI’s Young Leadership Programme (YLP) targets the leaders of that future, bringing young professionals together with experts to create a new space where change can happen.
The 2019 edition will focus on Eurasia, exploring the potential of the forest-based bioeconomy in China and Russia in connection with Europe. Young professionals will interact with global and regional leaders, network with peers and develop strategic thinking on how to manage and use forest resources to address societal challenges.
Open seminar on leadership and bioeconomy
To launch the YLP Eurasia, EFI is organising an open seminar "Leadership and transformational change towards the bioeconomy" with well-known keynotes to reflect on the importance of leadership for a sustainable bioeconomy. It also aims at characterising trends, challenges and opportunities for forests on a way to global circular bioeconomy and interpreting of bioeconomy concept in Europe, China and Russia. The seminar will be held in Joensuu Finland on 11 March (from 9AM - 1 PM) in the Louhela auditorium at the premises of Business Joensuu.
